The County Government of Lamu has embarked on constructing, equipping and operationalising new dispensaries and health centres in the hard-to-reach areas and new settlements.

The newly-built Wiyoni and Kashmir dispensaries, both in Mkomani Ward, Lamu West, will be operationalized soon and will offer basic services like general patient consultations, antenatal care, child welfare clinic, screening of non-communicable diseases like cervical cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and deliveries by skilled birth attendants, among others.The Department of Health Services is also enhancing all existing health facilities to meet the National Health Infrastructure norms and standards and equip them with the required health personnel.
