The Gender Department of the County Government of Makueni has from this week started food distribution to vulnerable groups to build resilience against Covid-19. Beneficiaries include the elderly, children’s homes, and orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) households.
The Gender Department also distributed 300 wheelchairs to People with Disability (PWDs) to enhance their mobility. The Department also gave them chicken to support their income generation for social and economic empowerment. A total of 1,200 beneficiaries are targeted in this exercise.
