Social Accountability, Learning And Reflection Meeting

Social accountability is increasingly becoming a popular approach in participatory governance. It utilizes a wide range of bottom-up processes and tools to empower citizens, enabling them to directly demand accountability from public officers responsible for executing government matters. This is a process of constructive engagement between citizens and government to check the conduct and performance of public officials, politicians, and service providers as they use public resources to deliver services, improve community welfare, and protect people’s rights.

Recognizing the need and importance of advancing Social accountability in Counties, DSW Kenya in collaboration with the Council of Governors through the best practice learning Center (CoG Maarifa Center), Health Committee as well as the Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture and Social Services will be holding a one-day Social Accountability peer-learning and reflection meeting to be held at the Council of Governors offices in Nairobi.

The meeting objective is to have a learning session among partners implementing social accountability programmes, studies and initiatives at National and at County level to share field experiences such as ongoing projects, existing tools, methodologies, dissemination of findings, best practices, challenges and recommendations.
